I recollect on a collection of blessings being optimistic on life and not living in strife. Try not to be discouraged by the negative images that have repeatedly depicted our heritage as a character easily defined by money, stars, women and cars, and bling that will make you blind.
But I refuse to fit the stereotype; Fall in the traps of the hype; To live my life in spite. I will always be in the light never stuck in the dark. My light will shine so bright the world will bust out in sparks.
I hate to say that sometimes I am shamed by my people consumed in so much evil, mind controlled, and so deceitful. And when I look at the TV, web, and magazines and to see females with no clothes on thinking they represent our race with grace; I bow my head in disgrace.
This place… we have arrived to was not the intention of the Greats who have paved the way for today. But on this day, I have something to say. Things have got to change, I will no longer sit back and get blatantly attacked and smile while our people get defiled.
But I’m on trial and I’m defending our race. Defending our integrity, saving our spirituality and protecting our morality. In this case, I am the witnesses, prosecutor, defendant, and the lawyer.
And it’s hard; I’m close to being disbarred.
Close my eyes, bow my head, and put my faith in God
Help me!
